Event Details

We are pleased to host 3 of the best known names in facial aesthetics in Scotland. Dr Andrew Culbard and Dr Kalf Jaff will present lectures on the facial aesthetics and dental interface and then consultant Maxillofacial surgeon Mr Jeff Downie will end the evening with a presentation on the limits of facial aesthetics and introduce cosmetic facial surgery.

    Dr Andrew Culbard

    Dental Surgeon BDS (Glasg) MJDF RCS (Eng)

    Andrew is a dentist with 6 years experience in the field of facial aesthetics. He is a graduate of the University of Glasgow (BDS) and of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF). Andrew’s expertise is acquired from a solid foundation of post graduate training and employment. He is a director and advanced trainer for his own aesthetics training academy ‘Facial Aesthetics Courses’ founded in 2015, operating in Glasgow and London. Andrew has been a speaker for some of the Aesthetics’s Industries leading companies including HA Derma and Teoxane Laboratories and was part of the Teoxane Medical Steering committee in 2017. He spent a year in practice in Dubai throughout 2017/18 and is currently consulting from private practices Dubai, Edinburgh and Glasgow at Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry. Andrew was awarded the title of “Best Young Dentist” at the private dentistry awards 2018/19 and is now working towards a post graduate diploma in clinical orthodontics.

    Kaly graduated from the University of Glasgow as a dentist in 2011 and has since developed a career in facial aesthetics. She now runs her own clinic, teaches for face academy and is a mentor for newly qualified practitioners and has launched Scotlands KISS aesthetics branches. She played a major role in running the skin clinic in beyond medispa at Harvey Nichols (Edinburgh). She also proudly works at Visage platinum BUPA practice providing an array of facial aesthetics, working closely with plastics and dental colleagues to provide holistic plans.

    Mr Jeff Downie

    Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon

    Mr. Jeff Downie is a consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon/Facial Aesthetic Surgeon for the West of Scotland Service. He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at Glasgow University. Mr. Downie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1991 with distinctions in Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Following that, he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Dundee in 1997. He has also been awarded Fellowships in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons London, Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow in 2000, 2005 and 2007 respectively. In addition, he has received many distinction awards in areas such as Anatomy, Prosthetics and Radiology. His special interests lie in facial aesthetic, surgical management of skin cancer, orthognathic and reconstructive surgery. In his private practice his interests include all aspect of facial aesthetic surgery especially rhitidectomy (face lifts), facial rejuvenation and the use of fillers and botulinum toxins to name a few. Mr Downie is a member of a variety of organizations including the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons. He is widely published and has presented in many international meetings as well as involved in the creation and facilitation of many training courses.
